Coconut Tree Divers strongly supports the conservation and restoration efforts of the Roatan Marine Park, a volunteer organization that oversees the protection of the Sandy Bay - West End Marine Park. All snorkelers and divers are asked to contribute to this worthy cause through the purchase of a $10 marine park reef braclet. All proceeds from this tag go to the marine park to ensure that our beautiful reef can be enjoyed by future generations.

Shark Dive

The world famous Roatan Shark Dive is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not to be missed! You'll descend to a spacious coral shelf at 21m/70ft where the south side current carries the scent of fresh fish to passing sharks. Accompanied by massive black groupers, schools of horseeyed jacks, and one hungry green moray eel, you will watch in amazement as twenty or more Caribbean reef sharks swarm the area. The excitement kicks into high gear when the Waihuka divemaster lets you swim with these living leviathans. You literally will be cara-a-cara (face-to-face) with the pearly white teeth of these beautiful sharks!

The Shark Dive is conducted through our partners at Waihuka Adventures at Las Palmas Resort on the south side of Roatan. Coconut Tree Divers is more than happy to assist with reservations, equipment rental, and transportation for the dive. The Shark Dive itself is $75 per person; roundtrip taxi fare from West End to Las Palmas is typically $10 per person.

Still feeling a bit uneasy about diving with sharks? Check out this video and you'll see there's nothing to be scared about!
